The Adelaide Racing Carnival takes place at Morphettville racecourse each year from March through to May and is highlighted by four Group 1 races, with the feature event being the Goodwood sprint on the final day of the carnival in May.
The South Australia Jockey Club adminsiters racing in Adelaide and the first major race of the autumn is the Group 2 Adelaide Cup on the Monday of the Labour day weekend in March.
IGroup 1 racing kicks off in late April with the Australasian Oaks for 3yo fillies and the Robert Sangster Stakes for fillies & mares, while the following week in early May the best 3yo stayers will assemble in Adelaide for the South Australian Derby.
The final Group 1 race of the Adelaide autumn carnival is the Goodwood for sprinters and is held one week after the Derby.
