The Heath 1100 is a set weights and penalty race for 4yo and upwards horses and generally attracts a field of more than handy gallopers who often go on to perform admirably in better quality races during the Melbourne spring racing carnival.
The Gr3 Aurie's Star Handicap held earlier in the month at Flemington provides a good lead-up race to The Heath 1100 while the upcoming Gr3 Bobbie Lewis Quality at the same track in September may be next on the agenda for sprinters contesting this race.
Crystal Dreamer (2019) finished seventh behind Land of Plenty in the Listed Macleod Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley before the Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra trained gelding proved too good for his rivals in this event.

Atomic Force (2011) ran third in the McEwen Stakes following his victory in this race while Testa My Patience (2nd in 2011) managed to win the Gr2 Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley.
