The Shorts is a good sprint event over 1100m that takes place on Epsom Handicap day and normally attracts fairly handy sprinters. It tends to be won by an above average sprinter rather than an exceptional one, and look for in form gallopers who have been racing well around 1100m-1200m in similar sprint events.
In recent years The Shorts has been taken out by Fritz's Princess (2008), not held in 2007, and Bentley Biscuit in 2006.

2009 The Shorts: Gold Trail came down the outside rail to win in easy fashion on a very heavy track. Fritz's Princess ran on strongly to be a clear second from Sniper's Bullet who also came home strongly to finish in third place.
