The Bobbie Lewis Quality is a Group 3 quality handicap race held annually each September at Flemington racecourse on the same day as the Gr2 Makybe Diva Stakes. It is run down the 1200m straight course and is worth $200,000 in prizemoney. It was won in 2009 by Swift Alliance from Gold Salute with Chasm third.

The Bobbie Lewis Quality is a good quality sprint handicap for this time of the year and more often than not attracts more than handy sprinters. It is run down the 'Straight Six' over 1200m and typically suits horses with an affinity for the straight course.
The race has been won by some quality types over the years including Titanic Jack (2003), La Zagaletta (1999), Hareeba (1994) and the brilliant Placid Ark in 1988.
Horses contesting this event may go on to a race like the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Underwood Stakes day in a fortnight. Orange County (3rd in 2008) went on to win the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes two weeks later, as did Bon Hoffa in 2007 before finishing second in the same race in 2008.
Gold Salute (2nd in 2009) went on to place in the Gr1 Toorak Handicap and Gr1 Emirates Stakes after finishing second in this race. In recent years the Bobbie Lewis has been won by Bon Hoffa (2007-08), Bel Danoro (2006) and Wildly in 2005.

2009 Bobbie Lewis Quality: Swift Alliance produced a strong finish down the outside of the track to overtake eventual runner-up Gold Salute close to home. Gold Salute led clearly on the flat side and bounded 2 or 3 lengths clear at the 200m before being collared near the line. Chasm ran on fairly well to get up for third.
