The Queensland Derby is a Group 1 classic race for three-year-olds that takes place annually each June at Eagle Farm racecourse in Brisbane, Queensland. The race is run over a distance of 2400 metres under set weight conditions and is worth $500,000 in prizemoney. The 2009 winner was Court Ruler who beat Shocking with Larry's Never Late third.

The Queensland Derby was first run in 1871 and is the premier staying event for three-year-olds during the Brisbane winter carnival. It is a set weight race over the traditional Derby distance of 2400m. The race typically attracts local three-year-olds and any interstate horses after an easier Derby to win than the AJC Derby in Sydney or the Victoria Derby in Melbourne.
The Gr3 Rough Habit Plate (2020m) held two weeks earlier at Doomben and the Gr3 Grand Prix Stakes (2100m) one week earlier at the same track are the the most common Derby lead up races. These two races have provided two Derby winners of late with Empires Choice (2007) winning the Rough Habit/Derby double and Ice Chariot (2006) taking out the Grand Prix/Derby double.
Court Ruler (2009) ran fifth in the Rough Habit Plate on his way to winning the Derby while Larry's Never Late (3rd in 2009) ran third in both the Rough Habit Plate and Derby. Recent winners of the Queensland Derby include Riva San (2008), Empires Choice (2007) and Ice Chariot in 2006.
