The Hyperion Stakes is a Group 3 weight-for-age race held each March at Ascot racecourse in Perth, Western Australia during their autumn racing carnival. The race is run over a distance of 1400 metres and worth $150,000 in prizemoney. The 2010 Hyperion Stakes was won by Marasco from Tarzi with Spitfire Ace third.

The Hyperion Stakes is an autumn weight-for-age race that usually attracts the better local sprinters running around at the time and occasionally an interstate galloper may make the trek over to Perth to compete. The level weight conditions of the race suits the better class gallopers engaged.
The race has been taken out by some above average gallopers over the years and horses contesting this race may go on and tackle the Gr3 Strickland Stakes (1800m) at weight-for-age later in the autumn.
Marasco (2nd in 2009) went on to win the Strickland Stakes at his next start while Tarzi (2009) finished runner-up in the same race after winning this event. Dedicated Miss (2004) was the last galloper to win the Hyperion Stakes & Strickland Stakes double.
Marasco (2010) won this race first-up from a spell and scored his second win in three years in the process. Recent winners of the Hyperion Stakes have been Tarzi (2009) and Marasco (2008).

2010 Hyperion Stakes: Spitfire Ace set a hectic pace in front and as he weakened in the straight Marasco started to lengthen stride and gobbled him up fairly quickly and was much too good in the final stanza. Tarzi came from worse than midifield before the turn to run home nicely for second, although no match for Marasco, while Spitfire Ace did well to hold on for third placing narrowly from the fast finishing Tudor Lad.
