Looking to get involved in a racehorse to enjoy the thrills and excitement of owning your own horse? Want to simply join a syndicate and share in the excitement with all your friends?
Nothing beats being involved in a racehorse then watching it win a race and if you are looking for a reputable and trustworthy bloodstock agent to get you on your way then we highly recommend Darren and Elizabeth Dance at Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock (ATB).
ATB provides the opportunity for you to share in a racehorse with leading trainers such as Darren Weir, Robert Smerdon, Jarrod Mclean, Peter Moody, Mark Kavanagh and more. ATB work with trainers they class as real horseman, who have history as strappers, jockeys, farriers or breakers before they became trainers. Most importantly they love horses and racing.
Specialising in thoroughbred racehorse syndication, ATB offer easy to buy shares to suit all budgets, starting at 5% and up to 20% investments. You can buy a share in one of their racehorses and join 100's of other horse owners for a fantastic and rewarding experience.
Horse Racing Syndicates - What's it cost to own a Racehorse?
Firstly, you will have to buy a share in a racehorse and share costs vary depending upon the breeding of a horse. An extremely well bred horse might cost upwards of $6000-$10,000 a share while bargain buys may be around $2,000-$6000 a share.
Once you purchase a share in a racehorse, on average it will cost around $30,000 to $35,000 per year to maintain & race that horse, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
A 10% share for example would cost around $60-$70 a week on average, while a 5% share would be between $30-$35.
5% Share - app $30-$35 per week ($1500-$1750 per year)
10% Share - app $60-$70 per week ($3000-$3500 per year)
15% Share - app $90-$105 per week ($4500-$5250 per year)
20% Share - app $120-$140 per week ($6000-$7000 per year)
E.G. If you and three friends wanted to purchase a 10% share in a racehorse at a $4000 per share asking price, each of you would be up for an initial $1000 each for the share and then around approximately $15 a week each (app $60 per month) to maintain and race the horse.
ATB are very flexible and can cater to whatever meets your budget. We have two horses with Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock and it was very easy to setup our syndicate while the above figures have proven to be around the mark as far as costs are concerned.

About Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock
Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock P/L (ASIC FSL:255488) was established in 1997 by Darren and Elizabeth Dance after they had spent many years successfully racing horses in Victoria and South Australia, including the dual Group one winning Mookta (Oakleigh Plate, Newmarket Hcp etc).
Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock is situated around 50 kilometres from Geelong and Ballarat in central Victoria on an 85 acre stud at 'Manningtree Park'. It is here that horses like the group winners Skewiff and True Courser were born, raised and later syndicated and went on to win at the highest level.
ATB are fully dedicated to the management and running of Manningtree Park and Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, working 7 days per week. They personally feed all of the horses residing at Manningtree Park, including pregnant mares, new born foals, weanlings, yearlings or any spelling racehorses. Manningtree Park only houses horses that are owned outright or raced in partnership or syndication.
