The WJ Healy Stakes is a Group 3 quality handicap race held annually each June at Eagle Farm racecourse in Brisbane, Queensland. The race is run over a distance of 1200 metres and worth $175,000 in prizemoney. The 2011 WJ Healy Stakes was won by Pinwheel from Metallurgical with Swiss Rose third.
Taking place on the final day of the Eagle Farm racing carnival, the WJ Healy Stakes is held alongside the Gr1 Winter Stakes and Gr3 Tattersall's Cup.

The WJ Healy Stakes takes place on the final day of the winter carnival and suits improving types who may have got under the handicapper's guard. The race tends to assemble handy local gallopers rather than the upper echelon, although occasionally a quality type may take its place in the field.
Every now and then the WJ Healy Stakes can unearth a more than handy sprinter such as the very classy Hay List (2010) who led all the way to blitz his rivals by 5 lengths in an outstanding performance.
Earlier carnival sprint races run such as the Gr3 BRC Sprint at Doomben or the Gr2 QTC Cup at Eagle Farm could be used as a lead-up race to the WJ Healy Stakes as they are both run under quality handicap conditions but are run over slightly longer distances than this race.
Pinwheel (2011) ran third in the Gr1 Goodwood over 1200m at Morphettville in South Australia before finishing too strongly for his rivals to win this race and recent Healy Stakes winners include Hay List (2010) and News Alert (2009).
