The Hollindale Stakes is a Group 2 weight-for-age race held each May at the picturesque Gold Coast racecourse on the sunny Gold Coast in Queensland. The race is run over a distance of 1800 metres and worth $300,000 in prizemoney. The 2011 Hollindale Stakes was won by My Kingdom Of Fife from Glass Harmonium with Scenic Shot third.
The Gold Coast race track is situated around 70 kilometres south of Brisbane and located about 5 minutes from the centre of Surfers Paradise.

The Hollindale Stakes takes place away from the city centre of Brisbane at the Gold Coast and is one of the bigger middle distance races of the winter carnival, being worth $300,000 and ran at weight-for-age. The Gold Coast racecourse also hosts the Gr3 Gold Coast Guineas on the same day.
The Hollindale Stakes has been won by some talented gallopers over the years including Metal Bender (2010), Scenic Shot (2008), Shogun Lodge (2000-01), Might And Power (1998), Danewin (1995) and Rough Habit in consecutive years in 1991 and 1992.
Horses contesting this event will most likely go on to tackle the upcoming Gr1 Doomben Cup at Doomben which is raced under the same conditions but steps up from 1800m to 2020m and Metal Bender (2010) was the last horse to win the Hollindale Stakes & Doomben Cup double.
In recent times Above Deck (2006), Mr Bureaucrat (2002), Might And Power (1998), Danewin (1995), Durbridge (1994) and Rough Habit (1991-92) have all managed to win the Hollindale Stakes before going on to take out the Doomben Cup.
My Kingdom of Fife (2011) won the Gr1 AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2000m at Randwick in Sydney prior to winning this event and recent Hollindale Stakes winners have been Metal Bender (2010) and Fulmonti (2009).
