The Sydney Spring Racing Carnival revolves around the two principal clubs the Australian Jockey Club, which races at Randwick and Warwick Farm, and the Sydney Turf Club, which races at Rosehill and Canterbury Park. Major spring carnivals in Sydney are Golden Rose day at Rosehill in late August and Epsom Handicap day at Randwick in early October.

The Missile Stakes is generally the first stakes race of the new racing season in Sydney and with the final day of the racing season falling on Saturday 31st July this year, the Missile Stakes will take place on the following Saturday at Randwick along with the San Domenico Stakes, before the carnival fully kicks into gear later the same month.

Sydney launches its Spring Racing Carnival in late August with an exciting days racing at Rosehill Gardens with the premier event being the $1Million Tooheys New Golden Rose over 1400 metres for three-year-olds at set weights. Rosehill enjoys two more top days of racing in mid September with Theo Marks Stakes day and Gloaming Stakes day.

George Main Stakes Day kicks off the Australian Jockey Club’s spring racing carnival kicks in late September with an action packed day of racing headlined by the Group One feature race, the George Main Stakes. The Group Two Stan Fox Stakes showcases talented three-year-olds, with the day renowned among racing enthusiasts for showcasing some of the best emerging talent for major Melbourne and Sydney Spring races.

Spectacular racing in early October, including four Group 1 races will see a big Sydney crowd head to Royal Randwick for day two of the spring racing carnival, Super Saturday.

With around $2Million in prizemoney on offer on the day, the equine stars of the turf will be out contesting some of the most prestigious events on the Sydney racing calendar, including the Epsom Handicap, The Metropolitan and the Spring Champion Stakes.
