The Perth Racing Carnival takes place in Western Australia, and metropolitan racing in Perth is held at Ascot racecourse over summer and the Belmont Park track over winter.
The major racing carnival in WA is held over the summer period at Ascot and set over 3 days of racing in November and December. Feature races include the Gr1 $1,000,000 Railway Stakes and Gr1 Kingston Town Classic . The Gr2 Perth Cup is another popular event over summer that attracts plenty of interest and is held annually on New Year’s Day at Ascot racecourse.
Ascot is also home to the autumn racing carnival held in March and April, with the highlight being the Gr1 WATC Derby and Gr2 Karrakatta Plate.
Belmont hosts its main races in May/June with the Gr3 Roma Cup and Gr3 Belmont Sprint.
