The WA Oaks is the premier event for 3yo fillies held in Western Australia each April and it generally attracts the best local females going around and any interested fillies from other states.
The race is held during the Perth autumn carnival and does not attract the best 3yo fillies in Australia, as the Crown Oaks and AJC Oaks do in the eastern states, and is therefore only a Group 3 event.
Impressive Jeuney (2010) won the listed Natasha Stakes over 2200m at this venue on her way to winning this event and recent winners of the WA Oaks have been Cassandra Shadow (2009) and Grand Journey (2008).

2010 WA Oaks: Impressive Jeuney got to the lead very early in the race and dictated terms perfectly to allow her to go on for a very impressive win. Broccoletta raced midfield and got home fairly well in the straight to grab second, while Tropical Fury was always handy and battled on for third without ever looking likely.
