The Vo Rogue Plate is a set weights race for three-year-olds and with the good prizemoney on offer tends to attract the better 3yo locals available at this time of the year. The set weight conditions of the race favours the better performed horses entered.
Boxing Day racing at Doomben racecourse brings to an end group racing for the year in Brisbane and the program also includes a couple of reasonable listed races which are the B.J. McLachlan Stakes and Bernborough Handicap.
The first running of the Vo Rogue Plate as a Group 3 event was taken out by the filly Graceful Anna. Any three-year-olds contesting this race will most likely head towards the rich Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival in early January to tackle the Magic Millions 3yo Trophy at the Gold Coast.
Graceful Anna (2009) went on to win the Magic Millions 3yo Trophy at the Gold Coast racecourse in January.
