The Show County Quality is a listed quality handicap held now at Randwick racecourse in Sydney each August. The race is run over the sprint distance of 1200 metres and has prizemoney of $100,000 for connections. The 2009 Show County Stakes was taken out by the Gai Waterhouse trained Swift Alliance who beat Bryannbo's Gift with Albert The Fat third.

The Show County Quality is a good race for prominent sprinting types suited to the handicapping conditions of the race. Improving gallopers who can get in with a light weight are capable of testing the better performed sprinters.
This race has been a good guide to the Gr3 Tramway Quality Hcp in recent years with Bank Robber (2008), Primus (2006) and Sportsman (2003) winning the Show County & Tramway double, while a number of horses have placed in both races.
It is worth noting that champion galloper Might and Power was good enough to win this race before becoming an immortal of the turf by winning a host of Group One races including the big three, the Caulfield Cup, Melbourne Cup, and the time honoured WS Cox Plate.
Swift Alliance (2009) went to Melbourne during the spring and won the Gr3 Bobbie Lewis Quality after winning this race. Recent winners of the Show County Quality include Bank Robber (2008), the race not held in 2007, and Primus in 2006.

2009 Show County Quality: Swift Alliance raced behind the leader most of the way before coming out at the 200m to score a strong win from the fast finishing Bryannbo's Gift who finished second, narrowly from Albert The Fat who flashed home late to be nudged out for third in a photo.
