The Group 2 Makybe Diva Stakes (formerly known as the Craiglee Stakes) is the feature race on Saturday 4th September at Flemington racecourse in Melbourne. The race was won in 2009 by Vigor from Typhoon Tracy with Master O'Reilly third.
The Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes is the premier race on Saturday 4th September at Randwick racecourse in Sydney and the race was won in 2009 by O'lonhro from Miss Marielle with Triple Honour third.

Lady Lynette is a quality mare who was getting home hard in the Cockram Stakes from a very wide draw and she looks much better placed here over a trip she has won five races from eight. Gets a better draw for this race and drops in weight to make her one of the hardest to beat.
Response produced a terrific first-up run in the Cockram Stakes and she looks set for a handy spring on that top effort. She drew barrier one when resuming and has to contend with barrier 11 here but she doesn't have to improve much to figure in the finish.
Rhythm In Paris scored a top win in the Cockram Stakes when she finished powerfully to score in quality style. She is building up an impressive record and has the perfect gate to give her solid claims again against the same mares.
Of the rest, Irish Lights got to the line fairly when resuming in the Cockram and she was the premier sprinting filly of last spring who has to be respected here. No Evidence Needed ran well in the Cockram when fourth and a repeat of that run will have her in the finish. Small Minds and Believe 'n Achieve both have claims while the interesting runner is Bart Cumming's mare Dariana who is highly fancied in Cup's betting and she could be a smokey.

Star Witness looms as the testing material here after his solid first-up run in the Vain Stakes when he made his run with Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff but couldn't quite match him in the run to the line. he was an impressive winner at his only run at this track and appears the one they have to beat.
Buffering ran a top race in the Up And Coming Stakes at Warwick Farm last time out and his ability to race on the pace and find when required makes him a sound conveyance. With fitness on his side and good recent form he should be thereabouts when it matters.
Military Rose races for the first time in Melbourne and if you forgive her Golden Slipper failure she has an imposing record and has to be respected for her debut run down the straight.
Of the rest, Soul ran a bottler in the Vain Stakes when just collared by Toorak Toff and a repeat of that run will see him in the finish. General Truce and the unbeaten Columbus have place claims.

Vigor one this race last year and he came home well for a good fourth in the Liston Stakes at his first run this time in and will be much better for the run. His second-up form reads 2w/2pl from his only four attempts and he has 5w/2pl from his nine starts at this track. over this course & trip he is 2w/2pl and he has bright prospects to win in successive years.
Heart of Dreams is a consistent galloper at this level and he won the Gr1 Australian Guineas over this route as a 3yo and his third in the Liston Stakes when resuming showed he is in pretty goo shape. Has a horror draw but he makes his own luck and rarely runs a bad race.
Monaco Consul finished the Liston Stakes off well when resuming and he will appreciate the bigger track at Flemington where he won the Derby as a 3yo and from lovely draw can make his presence felt.
Of the rest, Danleigh is a multiple Gr1 winner with claims but he has failed to place in two runs at the track and yet to win in five attempts at the trip but no doubting his ability. old timer Master O'reilly ran third in this race last year when fresh and has to be respected doing the same thing again this year while Speed Gifted has place claims.

Doubtful Jack is an outstanding prospect resuming here and his win in the Winter Championship at his last run prior to a spell was all class. He has won all three starts at this track and should run a mighty race first-up.
Love Conquers All has conquered all before him in Sydney and he looks nicely placed here to continue the good form. His only run down the straight was last spring where he finished unplaced over this course & distance behind Headway in the Coolmore on Derby Day. In top form and with four wins from five over the trip he will be very hard to hold out.
Leica Larrikin is an impressive type who just missed when fresh in the Aurie's Star and he is a three-time winner at Flemington who looks very capable of figuring in the finish.
Of the rest, We're Gonna Rock looks a likely type who seems as if he can measure up here while Beltrois goes well down the straight and has solid place claims. Queensland visitor Sweepstaking has ability and has outside place claims.

Parables picks herself on her slashing win in the Silver Shadow Stakes when she sprouted wings in the final 100m to score a top win. Drawn wide here and may not have the same pace on as last start but looms as the one to beat and getting value will be the main problem.
More Strawberries is still a maiden galloper but she is fairly well credentialed with a Golden Slipper placing to her credit in her autumn campaign. She resumed with a solid fourth behind Parables in the Silver Shadow and with added fitness can figure in the finish here.
Divorces is also yet to taste victory but he ran some terrific races last time in at Group 1 level in the autumn. Resumes here and looks the testing material on what she has done to date.
Of the rest, Amber Waltz was more than competitive with the best fillies last time in and she wasn't far away when resuming in the Silver Shadow and can improve on that run while Elimbari ran 5th in the same race and has claims. Fibrillation won on debut over this course & distance albeit in maiden class but has to be respected on ease of win.

Theseo was in it for a long way when resuming in the Warwick Stakes against many of these same horses and he finished a close-up fifth in a top first-up effort. A three-time winner second-up he is also well suited back at Randwick where he also has three wins and worth noting he won the Gr1 Chipping Norton under these same conditions second-up last time in he is very well placed to make him the one to beat.
Metal Bender is a quality galloper who resumed with a solid win in the Warwick Stakes and he could quite easily repeat the does here considering he is already a winner over the course and distance. Drawn to get the run of the race and be in the finish.
Triple Honour produced a sterling run first-up to finish second to stablemate Metal bender in the Warwick Stakes and the manner in which he got to the line indicates he is in for a great campaign and he has excellent claims on that run.
Of the rest, Purple got to the line nicely for fourth in the Warwick Stakes and she has place claims on that run and she has never managed to win second-up in her career to date. Count Encosta made up a lot of ground in the Warwick Stakes and will be better for the run and also has place claims.

Sacred Choice was responsible for a promising first-up third in the Show County at Warwick Farm where she got to the line very nicely late to put the writing on the wall for a good campaign ahead. She has won both her starts at Randwick including a Gr2 win last time in against her own sex and from a good draw she looks set to run well.
Centennial Park is yet to place in four runs at Randwick but his first-up effort with 59kgs in the Starlight Stakes when second was full of merit and indicated he is not far away. Drawn ideally and drops in weight for this to give him solid claims.
Drumbeats has drawn out in the car park but he is such an honest galloper if he has any luck at all he will bounce up on the pace and put himself in the race when it matters. Competitive at the highest level he can figure in the finish here.
Of the rest, Stryker doesn't win many but he rarely runs a bad race and he finished a close-up 4th in the Show County when resuming and can show up here. Sniper's Bullet has place claims as he is a multiple Gr1 winner but has to lug 61kgs and has never won at Randwick in eight attempts. Cannonball , Neeson and Snapy Halo all have outside claims in a very open race.
