The Jansz National Stakes is a sprint race for two-year-olds and tends to attract mainly above average local gallopers who may have previously contested the Gr3 SA Breeders Stakes (1200m) earlier in the carnival. Two-year-olds contesting this race may head towards the Gr3 SA Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) in three weeks at the same track.
Majestic Music (2009) went on to win the Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes as a 3yo during the Flemington spring carnival later that same year, before running second in the Gr2 Sandown Guiineas in November.
Recent winners of The Jansz National Stakes include Viennese (2008), Gabbidon (2007) and Lectrice in 2006.

2010 The Jansz National Stakes: Toorak Toff raced just off the pace in fourth spot all the way, before he let loose with a strong run in the straight and finished resolutely to just get the nod in a very close finish from Stirling Grove (second), who raced second all the way and kicked clear in the straight before being run down close to home. Bedrah came from a long way back on the turn to run home strongly for third.
