The Tasmanian Derby is a Group 3 race for three-year-olds that takes place each February at Hobart racecourse in Hobart, Tasmania. The race is run over a distance of 2200 metres under set weight conditions and is worth $200,000 in prizemoney. The 2009 Tasmanian Derby was won by Geegees Blackflash from Kinnersley with Coulis third.

The Tasmanian Derby is one of only three Group 3 races in Tasmania each year along with the Hobart Cup & Launceston Cup, and is the premier event for 3yo thoroughbreds during the summer carnival in Hobart.
The race generally attracts the best three-year-olds locally around Tasmania, and trainers from interstate may also bring a 3yo down to Tassie occasionally for the chance to win a Derby. It is not a race for elite three-year-olds and more often than not the winner of this race will be simply be a more than handy local type.
Geegeel Blackfish (2010) finished runner-up in both the Tasmanian and Hobart Guineas on his way to winning this event and in recent times the Tasmanian Derby has been taken out by Betwixt (2009), Mega Boss (2008) and Currigee in 2007.
