The Storm Queen Stakes is a Group 1 race for three-year-old fillies held annually in April at Rosehill racecourse in Sydney, New South Wales during the autumn carnival. The race is run over a distance of 2000 metres under set weights and worth $400,000 in prizemoney. The 2010 Storm Queen Stakes was won by Faint Perfume from Valdemoro with Absolute Faith third.
This race has been run in recent years as the 'Arrowfield Stud Stakes' but was run in 2009 as the 'Vinery Stud Stakes'.
The Storm Queen Stakes is held on Rosehill's biggest day of racing which is Golden Slipper Day, and includes four other Group 1 races on the program, the Golden Slipper Stakes, The BMW, George Ryder Stakes, and the Queen Of The Turf Stakes.

The Storm Queen Stakes is a fillies only event and the first autumn race over 2000m specifically for fillies which provides the perfect lead up race to the Gr1 AJC Australian Oaks (2400m) in a fortnight at Randwick. In recent times Heavenly Glow (2008) and Serenade Rose (2006) have both won this race and then gone on to win the AJC Oaks.
Purple (2009) failed in the AJC Oaks but was good enough to win the Gr1 Queensland Oaks during the Brisbane winter carnival in May.
The race tends to attract quality fillies and some memorable winners include Miss Finland (2007), Special Harmony (2004), Champagne (1998) & Research (1989) who all continued on to become top class mares of the Australian turf.
Faint Perfume (2010) ran unplaced in the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Classic prior to her win in this event and recent winners of the Storm Queen Stakes have been Purple (2009) and Heavenly Glow (2008).

2010 Storm Queen Stakes: Once Were Wild set a reasonable pace up front and Faint Perfume was always a mile back in the run, but she came with a withering run in the straight to round up Valdemoro inside the 100m and went on to score a quality win. Valdemoro ran second after enjoying a good run just off the pace and she raced to the lead at the 300m before being run down in the final stanza and was gallant in defeat. Absolute Faith ran on soundly to grab third.
