The Spring Stakes is a Group 3 weight-for-age race that takes place annually each August at Morphettville racecourse in Adelaide, South Australia. The race is run over a distance of 1200 metres and worth $115,000 in prizemoney. The 2010 Spring Stakes was won by Rebel Raider from Xaieta with Likable Will third.

The Spring Stakes is the first group race of the new racing season in Adelaide and being run at weight-for-age typically attracts the best available local horses suited to the conditions of the race. Horses from interstate may also make the trek to Adelaide in the hope of picking up a group race to add to their resume.
It is the only group race offered in Adelaide for the second half of the calendar year and the level weights conditions provide a decided advantage for the better gallopers. The race is run under the same conditions as the Gr3 RN irwin Stakes in March but the Spring Stakes is an extra 100m in distance.
Some more than handy gallopers have saluted in this event over the years, including Super Elegant (2005), Flavour (2001),
Will Fly (1998),
Hero Wind (1994-95 & 1997) and brlliant sprinter Redelva in three consecutive years from 1988 to 1990.
Rebel Raider (2010) won this first-up off an autumn spell and recent Spring Stakes winners include Midnight Mustang (2009) and El Maze (2008).

2010 Spring Stakes: Rebel Raider appreciated the fast pace to finish the race off strongly and run home a strong winner over Xaieta who also finished the race off well to grab second while Likable Will battled on gamely for third after racing handy most of the way.
