The Moonee Valley Oaks is a Group 2 set weights race for three-year-old fillies held annually each February at Moonee Valley racecourse in Melbourne. The race is run over 1600 metres and is now known as the 'Moonee Valley Fillies Classic' with a purse of $200,000. The 2010 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic was taken out by My Emotion from Speedy Natalie with Aloha third.
The race had a change of programming in 2010 and moved from the Saturday Gr1 William Reid Stakes meeting in mid-February, to a Friday night just under a fortnight later. The change was made in an attempt to attract better quality fields on their way to the major fillies races held during the Adelaide racing carnival in March. The race distance also changed from 1500 metres to now be run over 1600 metres.

The Moonee Valley Oaks is a set weights event for fillies that is now run over 1600m and aimed at attracting a better quality field of fillies who may be heading on to races like the Gr1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) and Gr3 SA Oaks (2400m) at Morphettville during the Adelaide racing carnival in March.
With the 2010 programming change, this event will also be an ideal lead-in for race for the Gr2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) for fillies, which is held at Flemington on the Super Saturday of Racing in eight days time.
The level weight conditions of the race means the better performed females have a decided advantage and more often than not the classier fillies will come to the fore.
Romneya (2009) won the Vanity Stakes on the way to winning this event and recent winners of the Moonee Valley Oaks have been Absolut Glam (2008), Anamato (2007) and Pure Harmony in 2006.

2010 Moonee Valley Oaks: My Emotion bided her time worse than midfield and made a move rounding the turn and rounded up the leader (Aloha) very quickly and ran to a fairly easy win in the end. Speedy Natalie ran on well late to run into second placing in the final 50 metres, while early leader Aloha held on to claim third spot.
