The Millie Fox Stakes is a nice little race for fillies and mares and generally attracts the better class females going around. Races such as the Gr2 Breeders Classic (1200m) held two weeks earlier are good lead up races and filles & mares contesting this event will most likely have their eye on the premier race for females during the autumn, the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Classic (1500m) in three weeks time at Randwick.
The Gr1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes on Golden Slipper day may also be on the radar, for those mares up to the challenge, and Neroli (2009) went on to take out the Queen Of The Turf Stakes after scoring in this event.
Montana Flyer (2010) ran second in the Breeders Classic at Randwick on her way to winning this event and recent winners of the Millie Fox Stakes have been November Flight (2008) and A Country Girl (2007).

2010 Millie Fox Stakes: Montana Flyer got out quiickly and engaged in a duel for the lead with Bejewelled for the first 500m or so before settling second on the outside and then showing great heart in the straight to keep coming and gain the nod in a close photo finish from the fast finishing Chakvetadze who was slow out of the gates and made good ground late, while Subtle Cove raced behind the pace and battled on well for third.
