The Geoffrey Belmaine Stakes is a Group 3 Fillies & Mares - Set Weights + Penalty race held each February at Caulfield racecourse in Melbourne during the the Melbourne autumn racing carnival. The race is run over a distance of 1200 metres and was The race has prizemoney of $125,000 and the 2011 Geoffrey Belmaine Stakes was won by Beaded from Varenna Miss with Das Machen third.
Previously a listed race until promoted to Group 3 status in 2007, the race has been run as the 'Hyderabad Race Club Stakes' in recent years and is held on Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes day, the second biggest race day of the Melbourne Racing Club after Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes day.

The Geoffrey Belmaine Stakes is a race for females only and the set weight & penalty conditions of the race advantages the better performed mares involved. Mares contesting this event may consider going on to other mares races like the Gr3 Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield on Blue Diamond Stakes day in late February.
The race generally assembles a more than handy field of mares, but is not a race for superstars of the turf as such, with winning mares simply being more than handy most of the time, rather than anything special.
Beaded (2011) stormed home to win this race when resuming from a spring spell and recent Geoffrey Belmaine Stakes winners include Velocitea (2010) and Annesong (2009).
