The race is run over a distance of 1400 metres and has prizemoney of $125,000. The 2010 Autumn Stakes was won by Denman from Guru Bob with Most Immediate third.
The race will be run as the 'D'urban Stakes' in 2010.

The Autumn Stakes is a good quality three-year-old race in the autumn and serves as a good lead up event to the Gr1 Australian Guineas which is held on Super Saturday at Flemington in a couple of weeks time. Heart Of Dreams (3rd in 2009) went on to win the Guineas after placing in this event.
The race takes place on Blue Diamond Stakes day and has been won by some more than handy 3yo gallopers over the years, including Apache Cat (2006), Special Harmony (2004), Titanic Jack (2003), Dignity Dancer (1999) and St Covet in 1995.
Denman (2010) won the listed Manfred Stakes prior to his effortless win in this race and recent winners of the Autumn Stakes have been Fravashi (2009) and Light Fantastic (2008).

2010 Autumn Stakes: Denman was tardy out but soon got to the lead where he controlled the race before kicking away inside the 200m mark for a very easy win. Guru Bon sat behind the winner all the way and ran an honest race for second, while Most Immediate got home nicely to finish in third spot.
