The AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes is a Group 1 weight-for-age race held each year in April at Randwick racecourse in Sydney, New South Wales. The race is run over a distance of 2000 metres and worth $350,000 in prizemoney. The 2010 AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes was won by Road To Rock with Triple Honour and Monaco Consul dead-heating for second.
Taking place on Sydney Cup Day, which is the final Saturday of the Sydney autumn racing carnival, the AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes is held alongside quality Group 1 races, the Sydney Cup, AJC Champagne Stakes and All Aged Stakes.

The AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes is a good horse's race and the 2000m distance at level weights makes it a very attractive race to contest on the final day of the carnival. The race always sees a high class field of gallopers assembled and some outstanding horses, including Grand Armee (2004-05), Lonhro (2003), Might And Power (1998), Rough Habit (1992), and Our Poetic Prince (1989) have all been successful in this event.
Races such as the Gr1 Ranvet Stakes run under the same conditions earlier in the carnival are good lead up races to this event, whilst three-year-olds who contested the Gr1 AJC Derby or Gr1 Rosehill Guineas might consider running here. Metal Bender (2nd in 2009) won the Rosehill Guineas prior to finishing in a dead-heat for second in this race.
Middle distance types who ran in the Gr1 Doncaster Handicap the week before might also be tempted to go on and tackle thie race.
Road To Rock (2010) ran second in the Doncaster Handicap before backing up to win this race and recent winners of the AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes include Pompeii Ruler (2009) and Sarrera (2008).

2010 AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes: Road To Rock raced midfield and made his move rounding the home turn and he raced to the lead inside the 200m to score an easy win. Triple Honour was a valiant second after racing on the pace but no match for the winner, while Monaco Consul led the field and battled on gamely to hold on to third.
